Palfinger Marine proudly made its mark in the history of the largest passenger ships by equipping the cruise ship Harmony of the Seas with its powerful PK 150002 M crane. This impressive vessel, built at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, is 362.10 meters long and can accommodate up to 6,780 passengers across 18 decks. At the heart of the uppermost deck, the Palfinger crane is strategically positioned for the safe and efficient transport of cargo between the ship’s different levels.
The PK 150002 M crane, with a reach of 27 meters and DNV quality certification, meets the highest standards of reliability and operational safety. Its role is crucial in daily shipboard operations, enabling fast and easy cargo transfer from upper to lower decks without complications and with complete safety.
The successful integration of the Palfinger crane on Harmony of the Seas has paved the way for continued collaboration. The STX shipyard has already ordered an identical crane for the construction of the next cruise ship of the same class, scheduled for delivery at the end of 2016. This further demonstrates Palfinger Marine’s expertise and global leadership in the segment of specialized shipboard cranes.
